About this speaker
Dave completed a 27-year career in 2018 as the Senior Cyber Operations Engineer in the Marine Corps. As a Warrant Officer, he has served in units from tactical to garrison supporting communications worldwide. Units he has deployed with include Second Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (forward) and Marine Corps Network Operations Center as the OIC for Deployed Support to forward units. While in the DC area, he has served with Marine Corps Systems Command, Marine Forces Cyberspace Command, and culminating with Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration, Information Warfare Integration Division, as the Senior Technical Advisor in support of the development and integration of Cyberspace capabilities across fixed infrastructure and in tactical networks.
Over his career he has deployed to South America, Africa, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan and numerous other countries providing data communications in support of operations and contingencies.
Following retirement, Dave was brought into MITRE and is continues work on Marine Corps Systems. His focus is from the tactical perspective, with an emphasis on integrating evolving technologies that meet and exceed the needs of the warfighter. He also supports the Deputy Commandant for Information as it continues to develop and integrate capabilities across the Information Environment.
Dave has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science and has various technical and programmatic certifications. He is married and lives in Virginia with his wife Ruby. They have three adult children: Melany, David and Ashley and five grandchildren: Bella, Sammy, Elena, Christina and Luna.
