About this speaker

My broad educational background in Biology, Chemistry and Toxicology allows me to excel in an interdisciplinary position while being capable of delving into specific areas as needed. Cumulative work experience includes product development, strong analytical chemistry skills, locating, comprehending and ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, previous participation in a congressional lobbying effort and on-going interaction with the FDA. Current responsibilities are to assess the risk of an intentional contamination in food using a probabilistic risk assessment model which considers physical and chemical characteristics of possible agents (pathogens, toxins and toxic chemicals) in light of the processing parameters they will encounter. Ultimately my strength is in problem solving and my ability to work in poorly defined/understood areas.
