Dr. Sheth is currently Founding Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute and Professor in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of South Carolina, and a Technical Advisor and Board Member of Cognovi Labs. Ben-Ami ‘Beni’ Gradwohl, Ph.D. is Co-Founder & CEO of Cognovi Labs, a predictive analytics company at the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Behavioral Psychology. The company’s award-winning and patented technology extracts the emotional undertone from free-flowing conversations and then identifies the precise emotional signature which drives decisions and subsequent actions.
Prior to Cognovi Labs, Beni was a senior finance executive, institutional investor and fintech innovator. By combining an analytical discipline with keen business acumen, he has successfully transformed or created new businesses, spanning technology, consumer finance, institutional securities and investment management.
Before pivoting into business and technology innovations, Beni was an Executive Vice President at Citi, where he helped stabilize the Firm’s residential mortgage business during the financial crisis. Among various responsibilities, he oversaw the Firm’s $280 billion mortgage portfolio, the analytics functions across the organization and the development of a new digital acquisition channel. Prior to Citi, Beni was a Managing Director in Institutional Securities at Morgan Stanley and an award-winning Portfolio Manager at investment management firms. He has also been on the board of directors and an advisor to start-ups.
Beni is a former Astrophysicist with research and teaching assignments at multiple leading academic institutions, including University of California, Columbia Business School, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, University of Chicago, Weizmann Institute of Science and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Gradwohl received his Ph.D. in Physics from The Hebrew University.
